BIRMINGHAM , AL — Walmart and Sam’s Club will have COVID-19 vaccines available soon at 16 locations throughout the Birmingham metro. A report from health officials said vaccines could be available at some of the locations by Friday.

A release from the City of Birmingham said Jefferson County residents can sign up this week on Walmart’s website or the Sam’s Club website.

The locations where the vaccine will be available:

The winter storm Monday night prevented the three locations UAB recently set up in Jefferson County from opening Tuesday, but should re-open at the Hoover Met, UAB Highlands and Parker High School when roadways are deemed safe for travel. Appointments for eligible vaccine recipients can be made at these locations online as well.

As of Tuesday, 495,465 Alabamians had received at least one dose of the vaccine, with 152,781 having completed the vaccination process.
